Vehicles were lined up over a quarter mile awaiting the start of the 2015 Fall Clean-up and Electronics Recycling Day
On a very cold, rainy, and dreary October 3rd, Dingman Township conducted its annual Fall Clean-up Day. While the figures are not in for the the rubbish to be landfilled, the recycling numbers are in showing that despite the weather, many residents took advantage of the event.
The heavy rain created a stream between the entry area and the unloading area.
Materials to be recycled
Electronics - almost 30 cubic yards collected !
Computers 23
Computer Monitors 18
Laptop Computers 7
Computer Printers / Scanners 17
Televisions 53
DVD / VCR / CD / Blue Ray / Game Consoles 29
Radios / Stereos 21
Microwave Ovens 11
Telephones (non-cellular) 13
And, hundreds of smaller miscellaneous items.
With an hour left to go, this 30 cubic yard container is almost full of electronic items to be recycled.
Batteries
Over 5 gallons of consumer batteries and several car batteries were collected for recycling.
Mixed Metals and White Goods
Over 30 cubic yards of mixed metals and numerous white goods were collected for recycling. All freon bearing items will have the freon removed before recycling.
Because of everyone who brought these items to the 2015 Fall Clean-up and Electronics Recycling Day these materials will be recycled into useful products rather than buried in a landfill.
The Dingman Township Board of Supervisors wishes to thank County Waste, the Dingman Township employees, and everyone else who helped make the 2015 Fall Clean-up and Electronics Recycling Day a Success !
