Electronics Recycling Day a Success

On September 24, 2011, the Dingman Township Board of Supervisors held their annual Fall Clean-up and Electronics Recycling Day.   While the the amount of rubbish and other recyclable items (white goods, car batteries, scrap metal, etc. has not yet been reported, the electronics recycling was quite successful.

Over 180 electronic items were collected for recycling.  Included were:

25 televisions         20 VCR/DVD players         5 microwave ovens

25 computers         19 monitors                        5 radio/stereo units

13 printers/fax/scanners          12 stereo speaker units

In addition to the electronics items, half a 5 gallon bucket's worth of consumer batteries (AA, AAA, C, D, 9v, etc.) were also collected for recycling.

Dingman Township conducts Clean-up and Electronics Recycling Days twice a year.  Residents may bring bulky items (furniture, carpets, tires, etc.) for disposal.  White goods (washers, dryers, refrigerators, etc.), scrap metal, mechanical devices (lawn mowers, snow blowers, etc.) wet cell batteries (car, boat, RV, etc), and electronic devices may be brought in for recycling.

In addition to the two Clean-up and Electronics Recycling Days, Dingman Township residents may drop off their household batteries at the Township Building, week days, 9 AM to 4 PM.  (Save wet cell batteries for clean-up days!)

The Dingman Township Board of Supervisors would like to than all the residents who participated in the event.  Participation is one more way residents can keep Dingman Township a great place to live.
