Sewage Department to Open for New Testing and Permits
Starting Monday, May 4th the Dingman Township Sewage Department will be open for testing and permitting for new sewage permits and testing for subdivisions and land developments. Previously, the Governor's corona virus orders only permitted work related to the correcting of sewage systems that were backing up or discharging onto the land or a body of water. Permits for new housing could not be issued.
In addition to the usual rules, the following requirements will apply:
All SEOs, testers, and installers must wear masks while working on the site
All SEOs, testers, and installers must stay 6 feet apart at all times
Persons not involved in the digging, testing, or installation of the sewage system may not be present on the site. This includes property owners, real estate agents, neighbors, etc. The exception will be those actively involved in the construction of the house or well during the time that the sewage system is being installed.
All permit applications mailed to, or delivered to the Township will be quarentined for two days.
Questions concerning any aspect of the permitting program must be made via telephone. The public is still prohibited from entering the Township building.
All contractors and employees will be expected to obey the Governor's safety directive. (Click here for a synopsis).
Should any of the above requirements be violated, the Sewage Enforcement Officer will leave the site and will not return until the violation is corrected and a reinspection fee paid.
