PCL&P Plans Power Outage for Critical Repairs 11:00 p.m. Tuesday
MILFORD, Pa. June 20, 2014 --- Pike County Light & Power Company (PCL&P) is scheduling a power outage affecting 2,570 customers for 11 p.m. Tuesday, June 24 to safely make a series of critical improvements to electric system reliability in advance of the busy summer season.
Approximately 30 O&R technicians from electric overhead, underground and substation operations will sweep through the PCL&P service area to perform necessary capital improvement and line maintenance work on 10 separate service improvement projects simultaneously. Those projects require the electricity to be shut off so crews can work safely.
Nearly 95 percent of the work is due to be completed and the customers’ service restored by 3 a.m. The remainder of the customers’ service will be returned shortly thereafter.
The service interruption will begin at Hulst Dr. and run west on Rt. 209. It will affect: Milford Borough and Township, Dingman Township, Westfall Township and parts of Matamoras Township.
PCL&P has notified the news media, public safety authorities and local government officials about these plans and is scheduling a series of automated telephone calls to alert customers about this work.
The rain date for this work is Wednesday, June 25 at 11 p.m.
PCL&P regrets any inconvenience this may cause our customers and thanks them for their patience and their cooperation in the successful completion of this important work.
