Commercial Tent Rental Requires a Zoning Permit

It has come to the Township's attention that a business has been contacting land owners about placing tents on their property.  The tents would be rented to other parties for short-term use much like houses are on AirBnB, Homeaway, and similar websites with the money split between the property owner and the tent company.

Like other commercial ventures, the use of a property for tent rental sites requires the appropriate permits. Property owners should contact the Township office to discuss permitting prior to signing any contracts.

The permit requirements apply to commercial camping ventures.  It does not apply to the occasional recreational camping by families, scout groups etc.
