FIRST ENERGY TO BUILD NEW TRANSMISSION LINE IN DINGMAN TOWNSHIP
Please be aware that beginning next week (May 17) field agents will
begin environmental surveys on those permitted properties for the Shawnee-Walker
project. Action items include surveying, core boring and cultural and
environmental assessments. Soil and sod moved during survey work will be
returned to the excavated area, and no heavy equipment will be used as part of
this effort.
Property owners were provided the following telephone number for our
project team to call with questions or concerns: 888-311-4737. Please share if
there are any inquiries.
As a reminder on the project:
Mid-Atlantic Interstate Transmission, LLC (MAIT), a FirstEnergy company,
is planning to construct a new 69-kilovolt (kV) transmission line in Middle
Smithfield Township, Monroe County and Lehman Township, Delaware Township and
Dingman Township, Pike County, Pennsylvania. The new transmission source will
greatly improve operational flexibility on the existing electric system by
reducing loading on the current system, as well as providing a direct
transmission source to the existing substations in the area and help to reduce
outages. The Project will also help to improve reliability for the current
customers in the area and ensure that Met-Ed has the capacity available to
provide service to future customers as well.
Please reach out with questions or concerns.
