SEWAGE DEPARTMENT TRAINING PROGRAM
How to Build an At-Grade Sewage Disposal System
Working from the upslope side of the absorption area, bucket the aggregate onto the absorption area site to a uniform depth of 6 inches. Use the marked stakes as a reference.
If you can not reach the entire width of the absorption area from the upslope side, place extra aggregate at the point of furthest reach and push it into place with a rake or light machine. Do not walk on or run the machine over the absorption area unless there is at least six inches of stone underneath.
The perimeter of the absorption area should be sloped at a 2 to 1 slope.
